Anyways finally watch Million Dollar Baby, a few days back.. A little bit overdue, did not get to watch it when it was screen in the theatres.. So yeah watch it and wanna find out how it beat Aviator at the Oscars, I thought Aviator at least deserve the Best Director award, i felt Scorcese did well for Aviator.. After watching the movie i really felt Howard Hughes is a complex man but damnn hell he is a genius, anyways shall not talk abt Aviator again..
After watching Million Dollar Baby, i so understand why it won alot of awards. I did not know Clint Eastwood was capable of directing this good. Hillary Swank always chose a challenging role to act, she shines in this film, even her southern accent was convincing. Her determination to be the best female boxer was definitely inspiring. Her character Maggie and Frankie (Clint Eastwood) relationship in the film really evokes a deep sense of emotional bond of a father and daughter. Morgan Freeman as usual is a born actor, being nonchalant and giving smug remarks. As the narrator of the film he definitely carried the pace and mood of the film. I honestly did not expect the film to make its turn for the worst, i juz felt it was the only setback, bcos I was rooting for Maggie and suddenly she juz gav up her life. At this point of the film, it stirred alot of feelings, mostly sad and gloomy..in fact the whole film tone was dark, i like how tight the framing was when close ups.. I espcially cringed when the female boxers fight violently in the ring, or when Maggie had the accident and worst was when the part when she pull the breathing tube frm her throat and blood gushing out gross man!! I teared at the end of the film, it moved me unlike Aviator which was of course also a good film on its own but i guess it leaves an empty void at the end of it unlike Million Dollar Baby..
