The reason we chose Redang was due to the vetoed decision made by the dad, sis and majorly myself. If mama could have her way as usual, she would likely choose destinations that could have her indulge in her hobby
SHOPPING.
But the dad wanted to go to a place whereby he could wind down and relax and the past trips has always been mama's pick,this time we refused to let that happened.. hehe now now do not go on and pity my mama, she is one smart woman. She really hates 'islandy vacations', the sea sand and sun are not her thingy. So she simp;y bide along with her husband and daughters pick but managed to squeeze in a day of shopping at Trengganu on the last day of our trip. Yes, since she made thorough research that shopping in redang was miserable.
Anyways, at the end of the day i believe my mama did enjoyed her time in Redang la!
But let me tell you, the trip doesnt kick off as rosy as you thought, we had the worst coach ride ever in our life!! And i seriously mean it. We took Transnasional, and the bus drivers were not at all friendly especially when our pleas to ask them to increase the temperature of the aircon falls on deaf ears. It was 10hrs of a hell ride.. Our whole body were aching so badly till it went numb,i was restless the whole time rubbing my whole body to keep myself warm..
The rest of my family members had to pee each time the coach made a pit stop. And i had the audacity to be very picky, so adamant i could control my bladder until i reached redang because i am sensitive to pit stops toilets,i just cant do it at any place. It was futile i realised i cant hold on any longer as well as freezing myself to death was causing me migrane. Served me right, i chose the wrong pit stop to pee. It was the last pit stop at dawn, at an abandoned petrol kiosk! I pee-ed at a male toilet mind you because it was full house on the female side, it was a good thing i did not had my glasses on, really i do not want to know what was in the shit hole! But holy shit! the moment i pulled the string to flush down the water was all yellow and murky!!! I wanted to puke!! I gingerly walked out and that session seriously made me feel grumpy, it was
very very uncomfortable and the fact that my mama made me more cranky when she told me the pit stop before which i refused to go down was much cleaner!
Moving on, getting to Redang was such a chore... You have to endure endless waiting time before you get to enjoy paradise.. When we reached Trengganu's bus terminal we had to wait for Laguna's van to fetch us to Merang jetty where we then got to board our boat which took about another hour to reach! Oh i must add we had to wait 2 more hours while we were at the jetty since there were a lot of other people who were heading to Laguna resort in Redang.
When we finally board our boat, my family was very privileged that the kind boat staffs told us we could take our places at the pilot's pit since it was full house in the cabin below. It was such an experience! The boat travelled out in a slow pace initially because the water was very shallow,any faster could cause the boat to get stuck,interesting fact! By the way i got to steer the boat yah!!! And listen to Pak Eddy relate stories about the surrounding islands amongst other things!
This is Pulau Bara (Bara: light source from fire), according to Pak Eddy there will be a light souce coming from the island when night falls..The moment we reached Redang i was already frazzled by the entire journey. But i still have a certain amount of energy left in me to feel in awe of the island!
The dad changed into his newly bought Redang tee while onboard. Hehe yeah he was that excited!Side tracking a bit, mama and me had been checking out this guy since we took the van together to get to Merang jetty. A hispanic looking fella travelling alone. Mama and me agreed he looks hot..heh The hot dude quickly took his place next to my dad in the tram which will lead us to the main reception of the resort. It was a pleasant surprise when he introduced himself as Ferhad to my dad hailing all the way from
Saudi Arabia. My dad was sitting in between me and him, i stole glances at him and caught his stare which he returned with a polite smile whilst my dad was chatting away. He had nice eyes with a charming smile and very suave looking. The dad bonded with him instantly even when we reached the reception they could not stop interacting which left me to take charge of registering our names to get our room.
He threw me another another polite smile and said see us around before the family trudged ourselves for lunch before we could checked in. Oh the food was heaven the 3 days we were there!! Since the package was full board, we did not worry about food at all!! In fact we were spoilt and i think i gained some pounds back!!!!

The following days our time was spent with fun filled activities. My sister and me had our first try on snorkelling! Which was resplendent! The dad joined in,it was a wonderful daughter-daddy activity as he led the way,guiding the fearful sister who thinks she gonna drowned,heh.. We marvelled at the beautiful fishes swimming around us, and the excitement of being underwater was remarkable, you got to experience it! But mama of course didnt try it out, not fond of getting herself wet. She only went swimming with my sister and myself at the resort's pool, which was fun as well because mama preferred to stay in the jacuzzi and by the pool side. It was hilarious to see her in the water i tell you! While the dad went for his massage appointment and also spent his time with Ferhad,leaving his ladies behind to frolic in the pool!

I also love when night falls in redang.. BUzz with activities at night, it was mostly the atmosphere i fall in love with, we took a stroll along the beach to explore other resorts nearby, and guess what! When i looked at the dark sky above it took my breath away! The sky was dazzling with so many stars. It was really romantic..sighh..and i did not noticed that i was voicing my thoughts out loud
'Haizz such a beautiful night,its much more apt to have this stroll with someone special' I mean i could literally imagine it! To have a lazy walk by the shores holding hands taking in the whole ambience, lying in the hammock gazing at the stars, or playing with our feets in the cooling sand.. Obviously there were plenty of couples doing the exact same thing i imagined.. So like i said the parents heard and turned to stare at me, and laughed it off by saying there i was
'dreaming' again, how shameless..

Oh but the highlight of my stay in redang was to actually saw a real turtle and even touched it!! It was really cute! No the person who kept the turtle are not keeping it for captives, he has 3 of them,got them since there were babies.. Not wanting them to be eaten by fishes he cares for them till they are big enough to be released back into the sea.

These photos of happy smiles and beautiful scenery are all indications of money well-spent =) I want to go there again someday. I even shared with mama if i could choose my life and live on the island even as a fisherman's wife, i do not mind at all, to be in a place with such serenity and calmness for the rest of my life somehow feels appealing... I prefer island vacations anytime..
But of course for now, I have my fair share of dilly-dallying myself under the sun..
Veritable too much,and I just went swimming again the previous day im no longer looking tanned i now look charred!! Yes i am freaking out although everyone else is so nice not to share the same sentiments.. I intend to avoid the sun radiation for now..
Whitening moisturiser cream is my best friend currently..
