Another spanking new year to live for aye? Happy 2009 to all of you!
How's your first day of the year been today?
Mine has been sluggish for some reason I can't fathom. I am spoilt to blame it on the blocked nose and cough which refused to go away or the hangover from yesterday not that I consume any alcoholic beverages.
Let's see where do i begin?
Maybe let's do a bit of the habitual entry of reflecting back my 2008 (just like how everyone in the blogging world have been up to).
A paragraph from last year's entry;
"So I hope 2008 will be another dramatic year for me and you too :) It is much more exciting when it has a lot of over the top incidents to be unfold, worthwhile memories to be kept. Who knows what I will be blogging about at the end of the year and look back . Uh huh, I know this year will zoom by quickly!"
Told ya so last year that the velocity of 2008 will reached 2009 before you can even catch your first breath!
To summarize, 2008 had quite a few life altering changes I had to adapt with. And yes there were a few dramatic experiences. But let's skip the bad ones and only highlight the major achievements instead?
It was a good head start for 2008 when I finally got my driving license (like totally FINALLY!) and am now a proud owner of a humble swift. It gets a lot easier ever since it's arrival, mobility wise I mean. So 2 resolutions were achieved and strike off the list immediately :).
Other then that, 2008 had been kind to me on so many occasions. I can list all of them down but that would take ages for this post to get published.
Taken from another paragraph last year;
"And then again, finally I am positive and still believe so much in hope that someone special is out there. Dating is getting weary and no man can hold my attention for more then 5mins. An independent man, witty, a sense of adventure in his life, definitely not clingy and at the same time not afraid to bare his soul is very appealing to me. Call me naive but this is what makes me who I am and what I want. Everyone has their own right to be fussy you know."
Really, I never thought I would be this thankful at the end of 2-0-0-8. This whole complex thing that exist within humans of having to battle with intricate feelings and whatnots. I don't want to jinx it by literally spelling out this need for L-O-V-E, it is a lot like that though.
Grateful to the very person who brought us together, I never thought 2008 would bring this much meaning. I guess dark knight and I owe this one to her for making our 2008 complete :)
And if I can allow myself to share how I spent my 31st Dec, it was more then I could ask for. Not much about getting out loud and painting the town red but we spent it reasonably splendid enough with his friends for a small gathering which if I can digress here to my previous entry I managed to solve my dilemma and cooked baked pasta specially for this. Heh, moving on so where were we? Yeps we had our own countdown celebration at a nice coast in the east (heh no no not east coast park). It was cosy and laid back. Not as happening as Sentosa I'm sure but we were armed with party poppers and sparklers, I hope that counts! Something I think we have in common, we are such boring couple who don't really enjoy the party crowd that much. It was merry in a personal way and my favourite part was the moment the countdown was over dark knight made another wish came true by giving me my first kiss for 2-0-0-9. That was wonderful beyond words. A simple peck which promises a whole lot for this new year.
We left shortly after and met up with Kak Mas & Kak Alfia who were having a good time already. Didn't stay for long, had to bid them goodbye before we head back.
Oh and significantly during the day, dark knight is by far the most awesome dude I have ever dated when he bravely met my mama for the first time. I think I was more anxious and nervous then him. Come to think of it, I don't think he showed any sign of nervousness. Anyways I believe he has somehow impress mama and my dad whom he did not get to meet yet but bonded over a brief teleconversation. I am so glad it went quite well, so not liking it when my parents wants to meet the guy I am dating. Phew!
There you go, my 2-0-0-8 ended with a nice note yesterday not fabulous but subtly nice. Just the way I like it :)
And my resolutions for this year? A rather simple one actually to be more organized and to finish reading the 8 books which I bought but left untouched. It's about time lah. Both are achievable I assume.
Enjoy 2009 everyone! Or try to at least, hehe. The world had suffered too much depression in 2008 but that is another topic altogether. Let's leave it at this for now. Ciao!
