To Miss Su, i enjoyed last night very much, i didnt know you miss me a lot ;)..
I like the smile on your face when you saw me, i missed your giggles (still cant beat mine bitch hehe), i love every sip of my iced milo from Mac'D which you paid for (though it wasnt neccessary,i cant believe you rejected my cash!next time my turn!), i relished on the fact that we can still talk so much crap,i rejoice with excitement on our May trip together(*hint = ERS means we get to spend a bit!), and most of all i really sincerely thought our parting hug was the best thing that happened yesterday (was that tears in your eyes i saw?)..

Thank you, thank you for your time on such short notice on a late night..We shall again babe..we shall ;)

++++++++++

And about another friend,oh make that best friend, her birthday is coming up.. i thought i had it all planned out with the other best friend, a surprise for her after she comes back from her trip but no, she always surprises me back when she nonchalantly told me the trip was off and instead she opted for a night spend with her friends this sunday!

Talk about bad timing! i actually beforehand invited the rest of the gang for the surprise so imagine my panic state!Mission aborted instantly..
So for the past few days ive been pulling my hair over what to get her! Since she's a very special person in my life i wanted to get her something meaningful and practical, its hard okay to crack the brain for her..that was until just now, and i cant stop smiling and feel im the most smartest ass and Baidah too heh..it was spontaneous actually and the idea started to flow from there! i Although my initial big surprise backfired, i believe this intimate surprise by yours truly and baidah will be the perfect gift(s) after all!

I simply cant wait for that look on her face :)

The lazy virus has got me, i know i promised a follow up entry about sight-seeing in bangkok but i never got around resizing and editing the images of the wonderful safari park and my-oh-my the beautiful architecture ive captured whilst on river cruise on chao praya river..and i so wanted to blog about how amazing the food was, especially if you are a tom yum fan!

But no,each time i wanted to blog i just went blank.

No joke. Even as im typing now,i have no idea what my next sentence will be.

*Ponders for awhile*

There has been a lot of things on my mind lately, some were good some were not so good.
The good ones has kept me smiling at some point of the day
The not so good ones made me frown at certain point of the day

That's it i give up!
Let me ease the traffic that is boggling my mind and then i'll be back with better crap.

Till then..

THAILAND PART 2 - BANGKOK SHOPPING

The moment we reached Bangkok we barely had time to breathe (ok maybe i exaggerated that bit!) oh not that i mind anyways! If you believe that you are the Goddess of Shopping, A Pharaoh of Impulsive Spending, a slave for the word 'SALE', im sure Bangkok will be in your top 5 list of shopper's utopia!

Gosh I thought i had died and gone to heaven! It was madness! Bangkok was shopping all the way honey! And i aint complaining girlfriends! Some of you had probably heard enough of me blabbering how insanely my family and i was in a trance going on shopping spree, roll your eyes all you want but seriously theres something for everybody, even my dad who's usually very very very allergic to shopping is a convert now!

You see i was taking my shopping mission seriously i failed to take photos of the places i shopped at or do my bit of cam whoring! I was that busy! But nonetheless ill try my best to describe the places that had made me gone bonkers and upon YounGorgeous request ill splash just 'a few' of the stuff i purchase (you is no kepo darling!)

First Stop - Chatuchak Weekend Market

Ok if you claim that you are any one of the labels i mentioned in my first paragraph, then Chatuchak is just peanuts for you, im sure many who had visited this place cannot get enough of it! Please brave through the humongous crowd, the B.O's, the humid temperature, the huge area (trust me,i got lost on the way back), shops at every crook and corner just beckoning on you to step in and touch every single thing that catches your eyes, polish your bargaining skills, do not be afraid (faint-hearted shoppers this is not for you especially those who cannot stand the heat), everything can be found at this market and i mean EVERYTHING yes even pets!

Only then you can proudly self-proclaim any names that is usable in Shoppers Dictionary!

Suan Lum Night Bazaar

Every fashion lovers hub who kill for anything exclusive and different where you will see young aspiring designers sell their designs, although this might be my mama's favourite because they sell a lot of home decor stuff! I love it too actually, all the knick knacks

MBK Shopping Mall

Far East Plaza (x100 can?), so big that it has capture the heart of my sister. I had gone crazy over a shop that sold very nice looking bags! Like value shop you know! everything selling at 199baht! My dad was very confused why his wife and his daughter needs to buy so many bags, haizz men?! Sidetracking, I quote a line from 'Sepet' which Ida Nerina answers her husband confusion on understanding women " You dont have to understand us, your job is to love us..."something like that if anyone of you remembers?

So yeps, we bought countless bags for dearest mama and me to share! Bought more earrings! i was spoilt for choices eh! Bought a few shirts and t-shirts for me alone,i also bought fake 'Birks' at just S$7!! Crazy or what? Just because both of my foot had became sore (from the walking and shopping la right),

Sigh..i was so contented..oh did i mention the jeans that were sold over there got my eyes bawling?!! they got nice embroidered design jeans which i knew for sure Elfy will die for (sorry sweetheart i could have bought for you but i just wasnt confident about your size,or the fact the money you gave me wont allow other purchases that you had summon me to buy)..

Pat Pong Night Market

People said its very identical to Petaling Street in KL, and it actually was but well better stuff, dont play play ok, they use catalogues for their imitation products! And what fun to walk down the lane with many clubs alongside with pole dancers in skimpy bikinis..?! Sure a hit with the guys!

But alas i did not buy much here because the price was too steep, they mark up the prices 200%, no kidding and they were quite agressive! Mama and me spent in Watson's, surprisingly the cosmetics were darn cheap!!

Pratunam

Well, we shouldnt have bothered shopping at other places because guess what mama and me discovered a wholesalers shopping mall right under our noses, in front of our Baiyoke Sky hotel on our last day!

Ok so i lied, there's a photo of 'A' place, an impromptu actually whilst in coach! At Pratunam..

Everything was selling at wholesaler's price if you bought more than 3 items! Bought more accessories, i finally got the fake 'Tiffany's' heart-shaped pendant necklace for just 210baht (S$9)! My sister bought her own fake Birks for just 99baht (S$4) and earrings for her friends back home 12 pieces for 120baht (S$4+)!! Haizz mama shopped more stuff to finish up the thai baht before we flew back that day..

Obviously this has been an entry about Shopping if i were to talk more about the orgasmic experience shopping in Bangkok, it will be endless! Im sure those who had went before shared the same excitement, besides going sight-seeing in Bangkok all you have to do is just shop to keep yourself occupied!

Anyways here's a few sneaks of just 'Some' of my purchases, others not included was either in the washing machine (having worn already in Bangkok), on my shoe rack, or still lurking in my parents baggage still unpacked at the time when these photos were taken (as of a few days ago of course, now everything is tucked into its respective rightful places)

Finally got my gaucho pants in turqoise and green for just 380baht around S$12 for two, which elfy bought around S$40 for just One piece, woohoo!

To be continued -Bangkok sight-seeing..

*p/s: pardon if there's typo or grammatical errors, heh simple im just plain lazy to go through over again!

Thailand Part 1

THAILAND PART 1 - PATTAYA

So yes, most of you had prolly made the correct guess by now..
I was in Thailand the last weekend and on Monday and Tuesday

Not my first time going to Thailand but oh what bliss i tell you! Honestly, i've always been captivated by Thailand rich culture. Putting aside how amazingly Bangkok is every shopper's utopia, let's discuss history, can we..?

The very reason as to why i have a soft spot for this country was due to that i was a History student before, and it was my favourite subject (shidah if you are reading this, you would remember the days how diligent we were when we studied for History exams), and Thailand history in particular had always been my favourite chapter, not only because i can easily score well on this chapter but i adore the intricates facts of Thailand politics, the rise and fall, the revolutions that had occured, how they presevered their independence (Thailand had never fall into the hands of foreign power, unlike its SEA neighbours), and of course the life and drama of the royal family!

I've always (note how i kept using 'i've always'?) been intrigued by the relationship between King Mongkut and Anna Leonowens, although many argued that the romance between them maybe just a fiction after all, i cant help but being swayed about how interesting it was, due to that its a no wonder that i love watching both versions of the movie potraying their lives, 'The King and I' as well as 'Anna and The King'..

Anyways back to present, the saga of Thailand politics continues with the recent controversy of the PM Thaksin Shinawatra causes uproar in many citizens over there, apparently its his own best friend that turn him in after Thaksin refused to offer his help when the best friend came to him with his business problem. So when Temasek Holdings was going to buy most of Shin Corp shares, all hell break loose, people going on strike outside Singapore Embassy, a car blast outside Thaksin's home, and people asking Thaksin to step down.

Obviously my family was very concerned about the situation in Bangkok but luckily the affected area was quite far away. Thus i must say, our time there was fully enjoyable. It was so enjoyable that i will love to write down every single moment that was worthwhile duriing my stay, and hence im going to (heh well not everything la)!! Since for sure to jot everything down in one entry is so ridiculous i shall break it into a couple of several parters.

Here goes..

++++++++++

I spent 4 days and 3 nights, with my journey starting over in Pattaya. It was a long drive from Bangkok International Airport. Lunch was at a halal restaurant at the outskirts of Bangkok, it was the start of 'Tom-Yum galore' (which then will be another entry altogether), we then made our way to Nong Nooch Village, saw the thai's cultural dance performance as well as a mock muay thai fight!Very interesting! Oh and how could i not forget, the elephants show, which was adorable and entertaining! So adorable that i wanted to bring one of the babies home la!

Looking grand and majestic

And by the time we reached our hotel in Pattaya Golden Beach Hotel it was almost evening. Freshen up before we left for dinner by the beach, it was absolute wonderful! With the smoky aroma hanging in the air, charcoal crackling, huge prawns, calamaris, fish, chicken and beef kebabs were being barbequed, we bask in the pleasant surroundings made it more special with amazing companionship. After stuffing ourselves to our hearts content my family took a stroll by the beach..

A desolate stall along the roadside by the Pattaya beach.

Pattaya, in my experience for just being there a night, was such a laid back place, people lounging around, kids playing by the beach although its already so dark, the thais grooving to the music by the road side, friendly people (take note, because im going to quote this line quite often), quaint shops to browse through, places to shop which i was careful enough not to splurge anything (saving it for major blow-up in bangkok). Actually come to think of it, its kinda similar to Bali minus the hot bod surfers that is..

I woke up to a beautiful sunrise, withnessing it on my hotel room balcony was so breath-taking! It may not be coming out from a valley or mountainous area, but watching it rise amidst the concrete jungle with a crane standing at the corner still
left me in awe

Sunrise

View from the other side of the balcony, looking upon the vast ocean..

As soon as we had our breakfast, all of us from the tour agency (did i mention my family was following a group tour?heh), set out for journey back to bangkok but after our last visit to the beach for photo taking, as well as a stopover at World's biggest Gems Gallery that made my mama and me weak in the knees! Diamonds rubies precious stones everywhere!!!I could have bought a dazzling dangling earrings but i underestimate my mind power all this while i could actually resist impulsive shopping, spending my money in Bangkok would be more satisfying..and that did it!

Speedboats along the beach

Bangkok day 2, to be continued..

**Psst the highlight of my Pattaya trip would have to be the moment when i actually shook hands with Orang Utan!! Oh my god,i was terrified at first just in case it will jump on me or something but my dad's casual self stroking the animal did it! The palm of the Orang Utan was quite smooth, was expecting it to be quite rough and hard, and yeps i got a wet kiss from it, and dare i say no man i repeat 'NO MAN' has ever been a gentleman enough to kiss my hand! Hhaha the first time and it had to be from an Orang Utan!?
Oh well, consider it a blessing of some sort,no..?

Saturday, March 11, 2006

Ive been craving for fish head curry for sometime but never actually do anything to cease this craving..
That was until earlier today!
I had my fish head curry in jb after my parents and i went to sign some legal papers,
It was darn delicious! Initially i was intimidated when i saw the huge fish head swimming in a pool of spicy curry, i was sure that the 3 of us could not finished it up even my dad assumed it as well but hey in the end tinggal tulang aje! Itu pun nasib tulang tak bole makan! So shiok and sedap!!

My appetite was fully sated, im one happy bloated woman afterwards!

Anyways, im in the midst of packing my stuff.
I hate packing!! But that doesnt mean im not looking forward for this trip.
Im still left with a few more hours to prepare everything, gonna leave the house at such an ungodly hour to catch a flight..

Where am i heading..?

Nah not going to the other side of the globe (although that will be my ultimate holiday!!), just a short vacation will be back in a few days time, this is a very much needed vacation for my family!

Till then, have a great weekend and a good headstart for the coming week!

*Lis scoots off to pack her stuff*

*Be right back mode*

You know, the things people said about Love..?
I wonder if there's any truth in it at all..

So far ive been reticence when it comes to this,
Honestly im still uncertain
Uncertain of what i truly 'Want'
Correction 'Need'

Somedays, i embrace my newly-found emancipation
The skies the limit
Somedays, i fall into my own black hole
Bitterness never felt so real

So what is it really..?

A sad ending for the missing little girl.
Mama and me was following closely for any updates on her, it was much to our horror to know that the police had discovered her body yesterday. And to know who the suspect was, made us felt sick in the guts!

How heartless can 'he' be when he stashed her tiny body unclothed under the bridge of Aljunied Flyover, and left to be covered with litters and debris. I wonder if 'he' felt any sense of remorse when 'he' was doing the deed.

I cannot fathom what led to this ruthless murder of an innocent life much less someone so young and so helpless. Mama and me do not know this little girl but somehow we cannot help but felt the lost and anguish how this mishap could have happened.

I love little kids, hence i have a soft spot for her. She was the same age as my few other nephews and nieces whom at this age, is never short of being pampered and being coddled over every single things, and for her to be the victim of a vicious murder, harmed by the one she trusted is unthinkable.

I hope now that her body has been found, she will be given a proper burial. And the person who caused this malevolent crime will be brought to justice and be punished. No sympathy to what 'he' had done, i do not care if 'he' had loved and doted on her before (according to the media). Because if you love someone, the last thing you want to do is hurt them. Thus, even if 'he' wasnt in the right frame of mind, it was not valid enough to save his damn life which is hanging by a thread at this moment.

Her step-father who i referred as 'he' remains as a suspect. But that was enough to bring much conclusion to what might have happened. I just cannot believe how he made the whole nation a fool when he was pretending all this while when he knows where her body was..?

+++++++++++++

mama and me was affected so much by this tragedy that we were talking about her non-stop ever since we knew she had died. So while we were in the kitchen preparing for today's kuehs and other food for mama's weekend shop, at the same time we were playing CSI as well, thinking of possible scenarios of what 'could' have happened.

First Scenario:

If the original alibi given by Nurasyura's step-grandparents to be believed, she might have been led outside by her step-father while her grandfather was praying. Since she was familiar with him and there was no doubt in her mind that this man could have hurt her eventually, so she followed him willingly.

Now, since she was found unclothed, the first thing that comes to our mind was she might have been raped mercilessly. (Though if this happened, his balls should be mutilated brutally! For goodness sake, how the hell can he be horny over a young girl?? he has a wife which i might add is still young and healthy for him to screw!).
Therefore, the little girl might have resisted by crying (my guess) and he assaulted her to silence her. It was bad enough that she died. So obviously he was shaken by the time it ended, out of panic he threw and stashed her body under the bridge.

Ok so here's the catch (sort of like a twist to the story), he probably rushed home and confessed to his parents that he killed his step-daughter. Hence, his parents in order to protect his son reported the girl missing to cover up what actually happened. Or maybe like the original alibi, the step-grandparents really have no clue what happened until his son was a suspect and got arrested.

Second Scenario:

Ok taking into account that the suspect had truly been a caring and doted step-father to the young girl but not to be believed her step-grandparents alibi. Probably Nurasyura had been ill-treated by her step-grandparents. we never know do we?its possible since she was merely a step-daughter, she might have been a nuisance to them so they assaulted her until she died. Grandfather might have panic and inform his son about the matter, his son came back and probably think that he was a genius and decided that he should disposed the body under the bridge instead of owning up to the police the truth. In the end he did report that the girl had gone missing to cover up.

Well maybe he was also involved in the assault?

Anyways, honestly i dont buy the tears from Nurasyura step-grandparents and her step-relatives for some reason. A bit over the top maybe when her step-grandparents were depressed over her missing? or the fact that her step-father had been aloof on several occasion? Or they were sort of calm and composed when everyone else was in a frenzy searching for her?Or just simply said looking at the lifestyle and the state of condition that her step-family was in,somehow common among broken malay families its not impossible that these kind of things could happened.

Either way both scenarios are unacceptable, lets just see how the story unfolds.

Mean time, my family prays for Nurasyura and may her soul rest in peace. Amin.

Met up with a wonderful couple today Zif and Az whose company i missed dearly!
Great goss' exchanged and stories shared, had a good laugh about everything which included about Zif's wart (hehe i still dont know to laugh or cry but i wont lie i laughed so bad!).

And to make the day more pleasant i bumped into an old friend/collegue whom i had missed dearly also. Lost her number and i just could not believe my luck today! I adore Joey!! The bubbly lady who got too much zest for her own good, her good sense of fashion, her caring nature, and her high pitch voice can be annoying at times but its like music to my ears instead! Without her i do not think i could have survived working in the hectic environment a few years back, all the times when we actually had our female bonding conversations, her constant advice to me (im like her little sis since she's much older), the wonderful stories we shared i enjoyed every minute of it! A devout Christian she is, never failed to arouse my curiousity over how spiritual she can be and how much she loves her newly-embraced religion back then over a life changing experience. Talking about her make me miss her more, sigh.. now why the hell did i come to lose her number!?! No more this time, im so so looking forward to catch up with her on our upcoming dinner!

Anyways someone has been giving me virtual roses icon on msn, and being me (the-one-who-loves-anything-touche-and-romantic)has been saving these roses icon each night and counting, not a big deal and it may actually not mean anything but heck its still sweet!See im actually a real simple lady, i might love the whole bouquet thingy and swoon but even things like this makes me all mushy inside too! So who says im fussy eh..?!!

All right its already Thursday, on normal days i would complain how fast it goes by but this time i wish next week comes faster pretty please (over a specific reason of course heh)..?! Till then i shall compile my list of much needed retail theraphy for my wardrobe that has run dry over drought of lack of new purchases for next week, hmm im actually proud of myself to be able to curb my impulsive urges so far this few months! Well done lis *pats on the back* heh..
